Our purchasing choices, from food and beverages to office supplies and décor, are made with the environment in mind. We source our food from certified organizations like Food Alliance and Fair-Trade USA, which champion environmental and economic justice throughout the supply chain. Our seafood is procured from sustainable sources such as those endorsed by the Marine Stewardship Council or Seafood Watch.

We believe in supporting our local community, which is why we work with local vendors, makers, suppliers, and MWESB businesses. Our menu boasts a wide variety of delicious vegan and vegetarian options, and we strive to ensure that at least 25% of our event selections are vegan.

We are mindful of waste and make every effort to donate leftover products and food to Urban Gleaners when appropriate. We compost food scraps and recycle cooking fats, oils, and grease. Our commitment to sustainability extends to our use of reusable dishware, silverware, and drinkware for both customers and employees. Even our major paper supplies like paper towels, toilet paper, and to-go containers are made with recycled content.

We offer sustainable catering practices to our customers such as minimal packaging, buffet-style serving, etc., and whenever possible, our food and supplies are delivered in reusable containers. We ensure that new employees are well-informed about sustainability best practices including waste reduction, recycling, and commuting options.

In fact, more than twenty percent of our employees choose eco-friendly commute methods such as walking, biking, carpooling, or taking transit. We provide secure bike parking for customers and our employees. We also promote a “no idling” policy for vendors who deliver goods and services to us.
