China Design Now: Entertainment
China Design Now’s opening gala demonstrates how entertainment during your event can elevate the experience to an entirely new level.
Event Planner Karie Burch flavored the international focus of the Portland Art Museum’s newest exhibit with heavy infusions of local talent. Portland quartet Third Angle filled the air with music of modern Chinese composers while Portland Fashion Synergy models styled by Smashcut Studios posed atop glowing neon cubes in ethereal designs by Chinese sensation Chong Jian. During Vibrant Table‘s feast of Northwest-Asian fusion, Pendulum dancers performed rhythmic contortions while dangling from ribbons. Guests finished the night with a little shake-down to The David Cooley Band.

Real Wedding: Claudia and Noah
Claudia & Noah at Elk Cove Vineyards
Claudia and Noah’s wedding is the perfect combination of elegance and simplicity. With such a naturally stunning backdrop as Elk Cove Vineyards in Gaston, Oregon, Claudia wisely realized that few extra embellishments are needed to provide that ‘wow’ factor. White table tops pop with centerpieces in bright reds, oranges, and pinks – and Claudia extends her budget dollars by reusing the bridesmaid bouquets in the table decor. She continues the theme for her wedding cake decor and I absolutely LOVE how Vibrant Table’s fabulous Page Winograd spruced up the ceremony gazebo. For herself, Claudia chose a classic, yet impressive, nosegay with roses, hydrangea, bupleurum, fern curls and smoke bush. Evrim Icoz – as always – did a fantastic job of capturing the grace and beauty of the big day.

Real Wedding: Alison and Eric at Youngberg Hill Vineyard
We loved this gorgeous wedding at Youngberg Hill Vineyard! Alison and Eric were so much fun to work with (and such a beautiful couple). We hung a thousand paper cranes in the tents brought in specially for the day, and enjoyed sun during the ceremony as well as some typical Oregon showers during the reception.
